“ This low-key elevated restaurant is a hidden gem set between Gastown and Pidgen Park. Modesty and respect for the neighborhood rule. Everything about it is intentional. Casual elegance in a modern style. If you want to impress a date, bring them here. If you love them, order the tasting menu with drink pairing. We shared the vegetarian tasting menu with drink pairing. Every dish was original. From the astonishing eggplant ponzu, the crunch of green papaya, and the crispy rice in lettuce wraps to the vegan meringue . The drink pairings introduced us to local wines we weren't familiar with. The service was warm and professional. I highly recommend PidGin. ”

“ Went for Dine Out Vancouver and we were really pleased with the food! The smoked trout was our favourite. They also had a wine/beverage pairing menu but we opted to just get a couple cocktails we chose from the regular drink menu. Very good cocktails. The servers were very knowledgeable and explained the ingredients for each dish. We did have to wait 13 mins for our table despite having a reservation, but the food and friendliness of the servers made up for it. Ambiance and decor were very nice. Would recommend! ”

“ Picked this place after a friend recommended and it was a wonderful choice! We got the tasting menu and the portions and pacing were just right. The staff also went above and beyond to make sure my mom had a special birthday experience. The uni flan and the sauce for the sable fish was a little salty but I think palates vary among people. Would love to come back to try the pork belly rice next time. Thank you and best of luck to chef Wesley next year! ”

“ We last visited Vancouver back in January 2023, and pidgin left a mark in our minds. So on this trip, we knew we had to return to see what this restaurant is cooking. Coincidentally it was Dine Out Vancouver, so we were offered a tasting menu different from what they usually offer. The standouts were the roasted cauliflower, slightly smoked trout, duck and foie gras (add on), and the wagyu. I loved the slight smokiness of the trout, very reminiscent of those good cans of tinned smoke fish, but instead of dry, oily flesh, it was accompanied by some of the most tender fish I’ve had so far. Among the pairings, the wine made by nuns in a monastery that tasted and smelled a bit like soy sauce was really fun, and the Pinot noir that came with the duck was a great pairing as well. The waiter recommended a Cabernet franc with the steak, which turned out delicious too. One eyed samurai is probably their most popular cocktail, but I actually enjoy it more as a mocktail. Sad that they weren’t able to offer it this time around. Anyways, that’s the second time, and I’ll be back for more! ”

“ Flawless ambiance in a comfortably elegant but unstuffy room, some of the best and most engaging service you will encounter anywhere, and exceptional elevated, imaginative fusion cuisine. I'm so glad we were able to enjoy another evening at the Chef's table with the same guests and the same wonderful chef and sommelier. Despite prejudices the neighbourhood might have imposed, this place is more deserving of Michelin recognition than a number of others we've visited. ”

“ Blown away by the food and attentive service at Pidgin. Hands down one the best Southeast Asian Fusion menu in the North American West Coast, having tried other restaurants in San Francisco, LA and Seattle. Their Sablefish is a must try (and serving rice is an instant way to win any Asian guy’s heart), and their Khao Tod was a winner too. 10/10 must try. ”

“ We tried their tasting menu and their portion was great. I really liked their oyster, great fusion flavour. If you don't want to get their tasting menu, I highly recommend their sablefish. The fish is cooked just right, and the flavor really got in there. The fois gras rice was okay, but the sauce was a bit too much for me, and the salt kinda builds up at the end. If you're not into rich food, this dish might not be for you. Overall, this was a fun experience. ”
